Delves Season 2 Guide for The War Within
Delves are small-group adventures for 1-5 players (with the exact number of players able to participate in the same delve being flexible until a maximum of 5 has been reached), together with an NPC companion. Like raids and Mythic+ dungeons, delves follow a seasonal paradigm. This guide covers what Season 2 of The War Within brings to delves, including quests, the Delver's Journey, special mechanics, Delve Nemesis, and rewards.
What is New with Delves for Season 2 in The War Within
-
The
Delver's Dirigible is so Season 1. This Season, true delvers are riding the
Delver's Gob-Trotter!
Brann Bronzebeard will be continuing to accompany us in Season 2
-
He retains his level moving from Season 1 to Season 2.
-
His new maximum level is 80. If you haven't reached the Season 1 cap of 60, you will find that experience has been adjusted to let you reach 60 more quickly.
-
Brann now has a Tank spec.
-
Mechanics for delves that were available in Season 1 have been tweaked to provide variety.
-
Most existing delves have new variants.
-
New Vignettes and Treasure Powers have been added
-
The rotation of Bountiful Delves has been changed to add more variation per week: Instead of one delve per zone being Bountiful each day, now all delves will be cycled through before a delve is Bountiful again.
-
Tier progress has been reset; everyone will be starting at Tier 4.
-
The difficulty and rewards of Tier 4+ delves will increase to match the new item level caps in Season 2.
-
Keys cannot be carried over from Season 1 to Season 2; your balance has been reset.
-
There is a limit of 1
Delver's Bounty that is able to be earned per week. On the upshot, even with this limitation, you are now much more likely to consistently obtain that 1, compared to the previous season.
In Season 1, all tiers above Tier 8 existed purely for Achievements and did not yield rewards commensurate to the increased difficulty.
-
Tiers 9, 10, and 11 delves will now reward more Runed Crests.
-
Tier 11 Bountiful Delves will now reward Gilded Crests up to three times a week from a
Gilded Stash.
-
You must have lives remaining to earn the
Gilded Stash.
-
There is a new Nemesis, The Underpin.
Delves Season 2 in The War Within
The new Delve Season presents a particular issue that you and your NPC companion need to solve by completing delves and dealing with the Delve Nemesis. Completing the Season Objectives grants exclusive rewards, including Achievements, a Title, and a mount skin for the Delver's Gob-Trotter. Along the way, you will earn other rewards, including schematics, a toy, catch-up gear, and a Campsite. Perhaps one of the most important rewards is the ability to purchase
Restored Coffer Keys.
This season, someone has stolen Brann's hat! Your objective is to get it back and deal with the Delve Nemesis, The Underpin. Getting started is easy, just head over to Delver's Headquarters in Dornogal. Brann Bronzebeard has the opening quests for you.
-
Seasonal Refresher
Check out the basics of your Delve Season and pick up starter kits from Sir Finley Mrrgglton and Reno Jackson. -
Defeating the Underpin
You have to do something! Track down and defeat The Underpin on Tier 8. This really is a pretty big deal!
The Delver's Journey for Season 2 in The War Within
The Delver's Journey is a progress bar that is filled by earning Delver's Journey. Rewards are earned at intervals during Journey progression, culminating in a capstone reward for completing the Journey.
You can check your Season Journey progress by clicking on the Delver's Guide book on Brann's desk at the Delver's Headquarters in Dornogal.

-
Completing a Tier 4 Bountiful Delve grants 50 Delver's Journey.
-
Completing a Tier 5 Bountiful Delve grants 75 Delver's Journey.
-
Completing a Tier 6 Bountiful Delve grants 100 Delver's Journey.
-
Completing a Tier 7 Bountiful Delve grants 125 Delver's Journey.
-
Completing a Tier 8 Bountiful Delve grants 150 Delver's Journey.
-
Opening a
Bountiful Coffer with a
Restored Coffer Key grants 250 Delver's Journey, no matter which Tier.
-
Looting the
Archaic Cipher Key from end of Delve Chests and turning in the weekly quest
The Key to Success grants 1,500 Delver's Journey.
Completing the Delver's Journey
-
As there are 10 ranks in Season 2 of War Within, it will take a total of 42000 points to reach maximum rank.
-
If you don't ever open any Bountiful Coffers and only complete Tier 8 Bountiful Delves, this will take approximately 280 Tier 8 Bountiful Delve completions, or 70 days for the season (with 1 character running 4 Bountiful Delves per day).
-
These numbers are reduced by Season Nemesis encounters and opening
Bountiful Coffers with
Restored Coffer Keys.
-
Delver's Journey is Warband-bound, so you can speed this up by running Bountiful Delves with multiple alts.
