Operation: Floodgate Dungeon Overview for The War Within

This guide to Operation: Floodgate includes the dungeon location and how to get there, bosses and boss abilities, relevant loot that drops in the dungeon, as well as all achievements that can be earned.

Operation: Floodgate is a four boss dungeon located in The Ringing Deeps. A crooked Darkfuse project is underway at the Waterworks dam, and it is up to players to infiltrate the scene and put an end the mad scientist running the operation.


Agent Renzik "The Shiv" leads a covert mission to infiltrate a crooked Darkfuse project at the Waterworks dam. The mad scientist behind it all must be neutralized in order to cut off the power headed towards Gallywix's sinister schemes.

How to get to Operation: Floodgate in the War Within

The entrance to the Operation: Floodgate dungeon is located at /way 42.2 39.6, close to the city of Gundargaz in The Ringing Deeps. The closest flight point for this dungeon is Gundargaz at /way 46.9 32.8. The dungeon entrance itself is close to the Waterworks dam where all the mining operation supplies are stowed.

Operation: Floodgate has two floors, with a tunnel opening underground after defeating the first three dungeon bosses and pilfering weapon stockpiles. You will enter the dungeon and confront Big M.O.M.M.A. Once defeated, players will make their way across the water to face off against the Demolition Duo. After defeating the Duo and pilfering all 5 Weapon Stockpiles, players can then challenge Swampface. Lastly, head down the surface tunnel to face the mad scientist behind the whole project, Geezle Gigazap.

Pilfer 5 Weapon Stockpiles

While progressing through the dungeon, players will be instructed to pilfer 5 Weapon Stockpiles scattered throughout the dungeon. These stockpiles contain explosives needed to progress further into the dam. Some of these stockpiles are located near dungeon mobs, while 2 out of the 5 become available after defeating Big M.O.M.M.A. and the Demolition Duo.

Operation: Floodgate Bosses in The War Within

If you have a scheme that needs serious protection and surveillance, you call in Big M.O.M.M.A. Silva Skystreak, the mech-pilot with a host of surveillance babies that want nothing more than to get the job done and make their M.O.M.M.A. proud.

Overview

Big M.O.M.M.A. commands an army of drones that, when defeated, cause Big M.O.M.M.A. to [Jumpstart], inflicting heavy damage to all players but causing Big M.O.M.M.A. to take increased damage.
Afterwards, Big M.O.M.M.A. requisitions an additional squadron of drones with [Mobilize Mechadrones].
  •  Tanks:
    Big M.O.M.M.A. will [Jumpstart] after all Darkfuse Mechadrones are defeated.
    [Jumpstart] leaves behind an area of [Excessive Electrification].
    [Sonic Boom] continues until it collides with an obstacle.
  •  Damage Dealers:
    Big M.O.M.M.A. will [Jumpstart] after all Darkfuse Mechadrones are defeated.
    [Jumpstart] causes Big M.O.M.M.A. to take significantly increased damage.
    [Sonic Boom] continues until it collides with an obstacle.
  •  Healers:
    Big M.O.M.M.A. will [Jumpstart] after all Darkfuse Mechadrones are defeated.
    [Jumpstart] inflicts significant damage to all players.
    [Sonic Boom] continues until it collides with an obstacle.

Abilities

  •  Jumpstart: Big M.O.M.M.A. attempts to jumpstart their depleted battery, taking 200% increased damage and releasing jolts of energy every 1.5 sec for 12 sec. Each jolt of energy inflicts 1037852 Nature damage to all players.
    Once their reserves are fully recharged, Big M.O.M.M.A. leaves behind Excessive Electrification.
    • Excessive Electrification: The electrified ground inflicts 1297315 Nature damage every 1 sec to players standing within.
  •  Mobilize Mechadrones: Big M.O.M.M.A. summons 4 Darkfuse Mechadrones to assist them in combat.
    When a Darkfuse Mechadrone is defeated, Big M.O.M.M.A.'s connection to the drone is severed at the cost of (- 1 * - 25) energy. (Normal, Heroic)
    •  Maximum Distortion: The mechadrone overloads its communications array, inflicting 1297315 Sonic damage to players within 60 yards and pushing them away every 2 sec for 16 sec. (Mythic+, Mythic)
    • Shoot: The mechadrone fires a quick shot at a random player, inflicting 648657 Physical damage.
    • Doom Storm: The mechadrone unleashes a strafing run towards a player, bombarding in a straight line and inflicting 25 Nature damage to players within 3 yards of each impact.
    • Darkfuse Mechadrone
  •  Mobilize Mechadrones: Big M.O.M.M.A. summons 4 Darkfuse Mechadrones to assist them in combat.
    When a Darkfuse Mechadrone is defeated, Big M.O.M.M.A.'s connection to the drone is severed at the cost of (- 1 * - 25) energy. (Mythic+, Mythic)
    •  Maximum Distortion: The mechadrone overloads its communications array, inflicting 1297315 Sonic damage to players within 60 yards and pushing them away every 2 sec for 16 sec. (Mythic+, Mythic)
    • Shoot: The mechadrone fires a quick shot at a random player, inflicting 648657 Physical damage.
    • Doom Storm: The mechadrone unleashes a strafing run towards a player, bombarding in a straight line and inflicting 25 Nature damage to players within 3 yards of each impact.
    • Darkfuse Mechadrone
  •  Electrocrush: Big M.O.M.M.A. crushes their target with an electrified claw, inflicting 6486574 Nature damage and an additional 1297315 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec.
  • Sonic Boom: Big M.O.M.M.A. blasts a pulse of sonic energy towards a player which inflicts 10 Sonic damage every 0.5 sec while dragging and silencing players within.
    The pulse explodes upon colliding with an obstacle, inflicting 3243287 Sonic damage to players within 7 yards.
  • Kill-o-Block Barrier: Big M.O.M.M.A. surrounds themselves in an electric barrier, reducing all damage taken by 80%. While the shield is active, it inflicts 13 Nature damage to all players every 2.5 sec.
The brains and brawn Duo of Venture Co, otherwise known as Keeza Quickfuse and Bront. Contracted to for whatever explosive needs Gallywix needs. Keeza's quick to explode and Bront is quick to clean it up.

Keeza Quickfuse blasts players with [Quick Shot] and her [B.B.B.F.G.] while planting Ticking Time Bombs with [Big Bada Boom].
Bront [Wallop]s his enemies and [Barrelling Charge]s through anything in his path - Ticking Time Bombs included.

Abilities

  • Keeza Quickfuse
    •  Deflagration: The Ticking Time Bomb explodes, inflicting 2594629 Fire damage and an additional 778389 Fire damage every 2 sec for 10 sec to all players. This effect stacks.
    • Shrapnel: Ticking Time Bombs explode when knocked into the air, raining down shrapnel that inflicts 3891944 Fire damage to players within 4 yards of impact.
    •  Big Bada Boom: Keeza calls down a delivery of multiple Ticking Time Bombs. Ticking Time Bombs last for 30 sec and cause Deflagration when they expire.
    • B.B.B.F.G.: Keeza unleashes her Blazing Ballistic Blunt Force Gun, inflicting 25 Fire damage to players caught in the blast and knocking them upwards.
    • Quick Shot: Keeza fires a quick shot at a random player, inflicting 1945972 Physical damage.
    •  Kinetic Explosive Gel: Keeza affixes a Kinetic Explosive Gel to a player which inflicts 972986 Fire damage every 1 sec.
      Removing the gel causes it to erupt with force, inflicting 10 Fire damage to players and knocking up all Ticking Time Bombs within 5 yards. (Mythic+, Mythic)
  • Bront
    •  Barreling Charge: Bront barrels towards his target, inflicting 30 Physical damage to any players in his way and stunning them for 2 sec.
      The force of Bront's charge is strong enough to knock away any Ticking Time Bombs in his path.
    •  Wallop: Bront wallops his current target, inflicting 7135231 Physical damage and 2594629 Physical damage to players within 5 yards. All players within 5 yards are knocked up.
  •  Divided Duo: Defeating either Keeza or Bront causes the other to increase their damage done by 20% every 4 sec.
    Bront also begins repeatedly Walloping his foes.
A hibernating beast sleeps at the bottom of Waterworks. Ever waiting for the right amount of commotion to piss it off. Swampface emerges with its murky rage. Whatever is in its path it plans to wash away.

Overview

Swampface binds players together with deadly [Razorchoke Vines] to restrict their movement as [Mudslide] rains from above.
[Awaken the Swamp] causes eruptions from the earth and a chaos of [Rushing Tides] that sweep players away.

Abilities

  •  Razorchoke Vines: Swampface entangles players together in pairs. The vines inflict 3 Nature damage every 1 sec for 24 sec.
    Moving 14 yards apart yanks players back together.
  • Awaken the Swamp: Swampface repeatedly smashes the ground every 1 sec for 4 sec, inflicting 389194 Nature damage to all players and causing Skewering Roots to erupt from the riverbed.
    • Skewering Root: Colossal roots burst from below, inflicting 50 Nature damage to players within 5 yards as Rushing Tides flow outwards.
      • Rushing Tide: A wave of river water that inflicts 20 Frost damage every 1 sec to players within the effect and pushes them in its direction.
  •  Mudslide: Swampface upheaves massive amounts of mud in front of him, inflicting 60 Nature damage to any player hit.
  •  Sludge Claws: Swampface ravages the target with gruesome claws, inflicting 80 Physical damage and 20 Nature damage. The muddy gashes absorb 80 healing.

At the heart of the Waterworks dam, the electric Mastermind Geezle Gigazap experiments away on something he calls, "The Project". Failure is no option for Geezle even if he must pause the project to take care of Business.

Overview

Geezle siphons massive power from the generator during [Turbo Charge], causing the Waterworks to destabilize and collapse.
Geezle then fries his enemies with an array of voltaic attacks as [Leaping Sparks] pursue players to their electrocution in the depths of the dam.

Abilities

  • Turbo Charge: Geezle siphons power from the generator into his battery pack, gaining 10 Electricity and emitting 648657 Nature damage to all players every 1 sec for 10 sec.
    • Turbo Bolt: Beams of ultra death lightning emit from Geezle, inflicting 50 Nature damage and stunning any players hit for 1 sec.
  •  Dam!: The dam structure shakes from the immense transfer of energy, causing water to leak and rubble to fall from above.
    • Dam Water: Water leaks from the cracks above, forming pools. Contact with electricity transforms the pool into Shock Water.
      • Shock Water: The water electrifies, inflicting 60 Nature damage and stunning any player inside for 4 sec.
        Inflicts 20 Nature damage every 1 sec to players within the effect.
    • Dam Rubble: Chunks of rock break and fall from the ceiling, inflicting 3891944 Physical damage within 3 yards of each impact.
  • Leaping Sparks: Geezle consumes 40 Electricity to galvanize several Leaping Sparks that fixate players.
    Upon contact, the spark inflicts 20 Nature damage and stuns for 8 sec.
  •  Gigazap: Geezle consumes 20 Electricity to shock players with unlimited power, inflicting 15 Nature damage and an additional 6 Nature damage every 1 sec for 8 sec.
  •  Thunder Punch: Geezle consumes 10 Electricity to sucker punch the target with a jolting fist, knocking them back and inflicting 100 Physical damage and 12 Nature damage every 1 sec for 4 sec.
