Cartels of Undermine Renown Guide - Patch 11.1: Undermine(d)

The Cartels of Undermine Basics in The War Within

The Cartels of Undermine is the fifth Renown faction player to encounter in The War Within. They comprise a coalition of goblin cartels ostensibly working towards for their ends, but who have joined forces to topple Jastor Gallywix's tyrannical rule in Undermine.

The Cartels of Undermine's reputation differs slightly from the other Renowns we've encountered in The War Within. You have the opportunity to choose which Goblin cartel you want to ally yourself with for the week. Unlike the Severed Threads Renown faction, you gain reputation with both the Cartels of Undermine and the cartel chosen for the week, meaning that you will likely earn maximum rank with the Cartels of Undermine long before earning Exalted with all four of the individual Cartels of Undermine:

• Bilgewater Cartel: From brilliant inventors to explosive geniuses, Bilgewater is home to some of the brightest goblins to ever live. They made a big splash joining the Horde, but in Undermine, they can use all the friends they can get.
• Steamwheedle Cartel: The oldest and largest cartel in Undermine. Steamwheedle has had their hands in almost every industry spanning Azeroth and beyond. But these days, under Noggenfogger, it's all about premium-grade alchemy.
• Blackwater Cartel: The Blackwater Pirates might be a newer cartel, but they're already making waves in the shipping and luxury vacation industries. They can move any cargo, anywhere, any time, and now it's all nice and legal. Well, mostly legal.
• Venture Company: Some might take issue with the ways Venture Co. acquires its resources, but no industry can run without materials. You want nice, find a book club. You want to build something, Venture Co.'s got what you need.

The Four Main Cartels

The main feature of the Cartels of Undermine is the ability to sign a contract with an Undermine Cartel. Every week, you'll be able to sign a contract and ally yourself with one of the Cartels of Undermine. You may only ally yourself with a Cartel once per week, and once you choose a Cartel, the pact is Warband-bound. This means that you cannot grind different cartel reputations with different alts. You can ally with a Cartel by talking to Kaydee Racketring at the Incontinental Hotel. You can ally yourself with a different Cartel (or keep the same contract if you like them!) at the weekly reset.

It's just a contract, but you can only do one Cartel weekly. No take-backsies!

A Fifth Cartel... ?

Besides the four main Cartels of Undermine, there is a fifth Cartel: Darkfuse Solutions.

Darkfuse Solutions did not make friends working for Gallywix, but giving up isn't the goblin way. They're back with a new brand, a new attitude, and hey, it was just business, right?

Darkfuse Solutions is the Cartel created by Gallywix to "protect" the people and assets of Undermine. While we treat the Darkfuse as enemies through the Undermine main storyline, we can ally ourselves with them at some point! We're speculating, from the Cartel's description, that they will become available as a post-Liberation of Undermine raid storyline faction.

It is currently unknown how to ally ourselves with the Darkfuse, but we know a few things about the Cartel from datamining: Unlike the other four main Cartels, they will likely revolve around farming and turning in a new currency,  Market Research. Once we learn more about the Darkfuse, we will update this guide!

Some of the known or probable rewards from Darkfuse Solutions include:

•  A Long Fuse: Reach Exalted with Darkfuse Solutions. Title Reward: Darkfuse Diplomat %s
•  Atomic Regoblinator: Toy that "regoblinates" whoever steps onto it. 3 min duration. 12 hour cooldown.
•  Darkfuse Demolisher: Black goblin shredder ground mount.
•  Darkfuse Spy-Eye: Black goblin flying machine dynamic mount.

Farming The Cartels of Undermine Renown in the War Within

You can farm Cartels of Undermine Renown by completing several tasks to earn Reputation around Undermine.

• Completing Cartels of Undermine World Quests as they spawn;
• Completing weekly quests in Undermine:  Many Jobs, Handle It!,  Urge to Surge,  Reduce, Reuse, Resell;
• Killing rare mobs in Undermine;
• Completing questlines in Undermine;
• Signing a contract with an Undermine Cartel and completing their assignments.

The Cartels of Undermine Renown Quartermaster Location in The War Within

The Renown Quartermaster for the Cartels of Undermine reputation is Smaks Topskimmer, located in the lobby of the Incontinental Hotel in Undermine - just to the left of the reception desk. This is the NPC you will talk to in order to earn your Renown rewards, and you will be able to purchase several of them once you've reached certain Renown standings.

These three transmog pieces are given to you by Smaks Topskimmer at certain Renown levels.

•  Undermine Enforcer's Padding is given to you at Renown 10.

Undermine Enforcer Garments: Dressing Room Link

In addition to the purple recolors of the Enforcer Garments, you can also have four recolors representing each of the four central Undermine cartels. The outfits are sold by Greexit Coarsebub at the Vatworks area, and the only requirement for you to be able to purchase these pieces is to be aligned with a Goblin Cartel for the week - So you will need at least 4 weeks to buy all four color variants!

Rocco Razzboom is the Bilgewater Quartermaster, located in the Scrapshop building at the Bilgewater Flats area of Undermine. The primary rewards for the Bilgewater Cartel include a red hyena mount and the red paint job for the  G-99 Breakneck.
